NUCCA Chiropractic and the Digestive system, Who knew!

The goal of the digestive system is to break the food down and absorb the nutrients and then excrete the waste material. It begins with the mouth, when the food is swollowed it heads to the stomach via the esophogus, then to the different portions of the intestines, then exits the body, well you know where that happens.

This system may break down, may create too much or too little hydrochloric acid which can lead to not absorbing as much nutrients, leading to stomach problems, malnutrition, abdominal pain, ulcers, colitis, heart burn, reflux, gastritis, constipation.

The problem in most cases can be a blockage of nerve supply to the area, think about it the body is controlled by the brain and nervous system, so if there is pressure on the nerves that control these functions wouldn’t it make sense to look at the nerves.

Conventional treatment focuses on the symptoms of these issues and uses medication like Prilosec, Tagemet HB, Zantack 75, which can have side effects such as Back, leg, or stomach pain, bleeding or crusting sores on the lips, blisters, bloody or cloudy urine, chills, continuing ulcers or sores in the mouth, difficult, burning, or painful urination, fever, frequent urge to urinate, general feeling of discomfort or illness, joint pain, loss of appetite, muscle aches or cramps, pain, red or irritated eyes, redness, tenderness, itching, burning, or peeling of the skin, skin rash or itching, sore throat, sores, ulcers, or white spots on the lips, in the mouth, or on the genitals……… and the list goes on and on.

It is more important to look to the cause of the problem such as the nerves that go to the digestive tract, mainly from the cervical and thoracic regions of the spine.

That’s what I do as NUCCA Chiropractor; I diagnose, find where the interference is occurring and treat to remove the nerve interference innervating the digestive system, thus improving the function of the digestive tract allowing it to function as it was intended to.
